For the salmon lovers like me! @ 21:34

Today's post features the most healthy salmon panjeon!
Won't you just look at that?
Doesn't that look yummy?
It is super crispy on the outside and "Q" on the inside.
Oh boy. I feel like having another serving right now.

No cooking oil needed and most importantly, it is not only super yummy but also low in calories too!
Yup. You read that right. Low in calories.
The ones I made for myself is not even 150 calories!
But of course, the amount of calories varies depending on the type of salmon used and flour used.

Before I made this super delicious salmon panjeon, I attempted the seafood panjeon which has prawns, chili and what not and it looked like this:

I know. It looks horrible and the ingredients are sticking out and it looked burnt!
And can you believe it contains more calories than the salmon ones I made?
Despite looking horrible, it still taste pretty good along with the dipping sauce I made though.
But that was also the last time I made it though. Heh.

Anyway, back to my salmon panjeon.
It was sooooo good I lost count of the times I made it for lunch.
Super easy and fast to make too.
You can increase the amount used of course because the ones I made for myself might be quite small for certain people.
Anyways, these are the steps to making the oh-so-awesome salmon panjeon:

Ingredients:
  1. Salmon 20~25g
  2. Flour 20g [I used wheat flour]
  3. Pinch of baking soda
  4. Pinch of salt
  5. Chopped spring onions [May omit; personally I felt that it just adds color to the panjeon, doesn't make much difference to the taste]
  6. Water 40ml
Steps:
  1. Mix the dry ingredients together. Sieve it if you have time but doesn't matter if you don't.
  2. Mix and add water slowly to the dry ingredients until no clumps are present. Personally I don't measure the amount of water I used. I just add and mix then add and mix until the batter turns watery and not the sticky texture. You can increase or decrease the amount of water used as you desired.
  3. Heat the salmon in a small non-stick pan.
  4. With a small spoon, make the salmon into small pieces as you are heating it.
  5. Remove the salmon from the pan ONCE its natural oil has been "expelled" from the flesh. Do not overcooked the salmon.
  6. Add your batter into the pan with the salmon oil and spread your shreds of salmon around your batter. Add in the spring onions if using.
  7. Flip your panjeon once you see the sides starts to brown and flatten it with your spatula.
  8. Continue to pan fry it until the bottom turns a nice shades of brown.
  9. Serve and enjoy the awesome healthy salmon panjeon.

Last photo of my salmon panjeon showing how crispy it is. Yum!  :P
