Summer calls for a swim @ 03:30

Oh Hi!
Super love the weather last week where the temperature actually went up to 28 degrees!
I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss the feeling of feeling I'm gonna have a heat stroke anytime soon. Haha.
But that was last week because the temperature dropped again and it had been raining these few days..

Anyway, due to the lovely weather last week, I suggested to go for a swim when I went to visit my Dad last week!
So we went to Bonte Wever again.

Prefer the one at Jurong East in Singapore though.
Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.
We used to go to another Bonte Wever when my brother and I were much younger and it was so much bigger and better than this one but I was told by my Dad that the place burned down a few years back. ):

Actually I wasn't sure if photos are allowed and I went back inside to take these photos after the shower. Haha.

This was one of the section I love over there!
Other than the queue that is or I would have gone for a lot more times..
Massage in bath tub with special ointments.
The water would be drained and a new tub of water would be refilled after one guest of course, which also explains the waiting time..
But it feels so good..

Another facility I like over there is the sauna rooms!
Of course I couldn't went inside to take photos of the rooms so I guess we'll just have to make do with the outside of the rooms ya.

Like others, they have the "wet" and "dry" sauna.
I usually really like the "wet" sauna but theirs is not hot at all.
Their sauna rooms are also very small..

Oh! They also have this artificial tanning thingy.

I am never ever ever ever gonna try it. I SWEAR!
Must be because of Final Destination. Hahaha.
I prefer to stay fair anyway..

Next is the outdoor swimming pool where you can swim outside to the open air.

The other time I went the weather was still too cold so I didn't stayed outside for too long but this time round I stayed outside for quite some time. (:

The slide which I shamelessly queued with the other kids. Hahaha.

Last but not least..the artificial "wave"~

Ok. That's all for now!

Tacos! @ 09:32

My initial plan was to make wraps after having seen a lot of people posting their wraps pictures on IG.
And to be honest, before I made these tacos, I never had wraps or tacos before. Therefore, I didn't really know what's the difference between them.
As they say "When in doubt, ask Google" and so I did.
HOWEVER different web says different stuffs! Some said that tacos are just smaller versions of wraps, which was also why I ended up buying taco shells.
Oh well. At least now I know the difference between them now.

Anyway, back to my tacos.
Even though I didn't get to make wraps, these tacos were still so yummy with the ingredients I initially wanted to wrap in my wraps.

First version was button mushrooms with fat juicy prawns and lettuce together with my self-mixed wasabi-mayo.

Steps:
  1. Wash desired amount of lettuce you want
  2. Cook your prawns in boiling water or you can steam it and put aside letting it cool
  3. Sauteed your button mushrooms and put aside letting it cool
  4. Squeeze a little bit of wasabi paste into a small bowl and add in mayo [I used low-fat mayo] until desired taste
  5. Mix the wasabi-mayo with your cooked prawns and mushrooms and chill it in the fridge for 1-2 hours
  6. Prepare your taco shell according to package when you're ready to eat
  7. Add lettuce between your taco and place chilled prawns and mushrooms coated with wasabi-mayo in between
  8. Serve and enjoy!

As you can see, my ingredients are overflowing! Haha.
I actually made quite a mess while eating it. :\

Second version; more suited for lazy people? Haha.
Just lettuce, sliced tomatoes and tuna chunks.

For the salmon lovers like me! @ 21:34

Today's post features the most healthy salmon panjeon!
Won't you just look at that?
Doesn't that look yummy?
It is super crispy on the outside and "Q" on the inside.
Oh boy. I feel like having another serving right now.

No cooking oil needed and most importantly, it is not only super yummy but also low in calories too!
Yup. You read that right. Low in calories.
The ones I made for myself is not even 150 calories!
But of course, the amount of calories varies depending on the type of salmon used and flour used.

Before I made this super delicious salmon panjeon, I attempted the seafood panjeon which has prawns, chili and what not and it looked like this:

I know. It looks horrible and the ingredients are sticking out and it looked burnt!
And can you believe it contains more calories than the salmon ones I made?
Despite looking horrible, it still taste pretty good along with the dipping sauce I made though.
But that was also the last time I made it though. Heh.

Anyway, back to my salmon panjeon.
It was sooooo good I lost count of the times I made it for lunch.
Super easy and fast to make too.
You can increase the amount used of course because the ones I made for myself might be quite small for certain people.
Anyways, these are the steps to making the oh-so-awesome salmon panjeon:

Ingredients:
  1. Salmon 20~25g
  2. Flour 20g [I used wheat flour]
  3. Pinch of baking soda
  4. Pinch of salt
  5. Chopped spring onions [May omit; personally I felt that it just adds color to the panjeon, doesn't make much difference to the taste]
  6. Water 40ml
Steps:
  1. Mix the dry ingredients together. Sieve it if you have time but doesn't matter if you don't.
  2. Mix and add water slowly to the dry ingredients until no clumps are present. Personally I don't measure the amount of water I used. I just add and mix then add and mix until the batter turns watery and not the sticky texture. You can increase or decrease the amount of water used as you desired.
  3. Heat the salmon in a small non-stick pan.
  4. With a small spoon, make the salmon into small pieces as you are heating it.
  5. Remove the salmon from the pan ONCE its natural oil has been "expelled" from the flesh. Do not overcooked the salmon.
  6. Add your batter into the pan with the salmon oil and spread your shreds of salmon around your batter. Add in the spring onions if using.
  7. Flip your panjeon once you see the sides starts to brown and flatten it with your spatula.
  8. Continue to pan fry it until the bottom turns a nice shades of brown.
  9. Serve and enjoy the awesome healthy salmon panjeon.

Last photo of my salmon panjeon showing how crispy it is. Yum!  :P
